The Ontario Senior Men’s Team proudly represents the province each year at the Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) National Championships, competing against other top provincial programs from across the country. This prestigious tournament brings together Canada’s best male and female athletes in a true best-on-best competition.

In 2026, the WBC National Championships will be hosted by the BC Wheelchair Basketball Society from May 15–17, 2026, at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, British Columbia. The event will run in conjunction with the inaugural OneAbility Games, highlighting the power of inclusive sport and athletic excellence on a national stage.

Team Selection

Athletes have the opportunity to try out for Team Ontario at the beginning of each season. Selection is based on performance at designated selection camps, as well as the athlete’s commitment to training and development throughout the year. Detailed tryout information and selection criteria will be shared online and communicated directly to club coaches and athletes in advance.

  1. Independent Travel – The ability to travel independently to attend training, competitions, and the National Championships.
  2. Classification Assessment – An evaluation of the athlete’s classification in relation to other players in the Ontario men’s program pool, ensuring balanced team composition.
  3. Training Commitment – Demonstrated dedication to maintaining a consistent training regimen and remaining in peak condition to represent Ontario.
  4. Good Standing – Compliance with ONPARA’s standards, policies, and regulations, including positive conduct, teamwork, and commitment to the program’s values.
