Silver and Bronze Finish for Ontario at Junior East Regionals

2016 Junior East Regional Championship Results

Congratulfull team photo of Team Ontario athletes posing with their silver and bronze medals after a tournamentations to our Team Ontario Junior athletes who competed at the Junior East Regional Championships in Charlottetown, PEI over the weekend of May 14-15.

The ten Team Ontario athletes split up into two squads of five players for this 3-on-3 tournament. They competed in the 9-point Division against two squads from Québec – Québec Bleu & Québec Blanc – while teams from New Brunswick, Québec, Nova Scotia (x2), and PEI competed in the Open Division.

Both Ontario teams returned with hardware from the event with Team Ontario 1 capturing a silver medal finish after a hard-fought 20-25 loss to Québec Bleu while Team Ontario 2 earned bronze with a 19-13 win over Québec Blanc.

In addititwo wheelchair basketball athletes - one boy and one girl - posing with their medals and gifts from the championship tournamenton, two Ontario athletes were selected as tournament All-Stars in the 9-point Division – Puisand Lai (1.0) as the low class female and Aaron McDonald (4.5) as the high class male.
