ONPARA Announces New Staff 2022

ONPARA is excited to announce the hiring of new staff to our team.

Please join us in welcoming Claire, Naiomi, and Tammy!

Here’s a little more about our new team:

Claire comes from a long history of being a high-performance athlete since 2009 where she competed on the Collegiate and International stage for Wheelchair Basketball and currently competes internationally with Para Ice Hockey.

She has a passion for para sport and advocating for equality and safety in sport. Outside of Claire’s new role at ONPARA, she is a Broadcaster with AMI on a show called “The Neutral Zone” where they cover news and events in the para sport world as well as mainstream sports. She enjoys using her voice to elevate the stories and voices of other disabled individuals and is thrilled to be able to do the same here at ONPARA!

Tammy joins us with over 20 years of experience working with private, public, and non-profit organizations focused on enhancing health, wellness, sport, and recreational. She has a background in recreational therapy and is passionate about making sport accessible and inclusive for all. Tammy brings her knowledge of event and program coordination, volunteer recruitment, and marketing to the team and will be leading the coordination of Ontario Para Network’s High Performance Wheelchair Basketball Programs.

Naiomi completed her Advanced Diploma in Sport Management from Humber College in 2019. She brings experience interning for Ontario Basketball as their Officiating intern and Canada Basketball as a Coach Education intern.  She has a background as a Membership & Administrative Coordinator and ongoing experience at a high-performance organization and is very familiar with the Canadian sport system. She is excited for this new journey and to be a part of the ONPARA team!
