[Opportunity] Men’s High-Performance Wheelchair Basketball Coach

Ontario Para Network is thrilled to announce the formation of an Ontario Men’s High-Performance Wheelchair Basketball Team, which will compete in the WBC Nationals in May 2025. This marks a significant milestone in the development of wheelchair basketball in the province, and we are eager to build a competitive and dynamic team that will represent Ontario at the highest level.

To lead this initiative, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Men’s High-Performance Wheelchair Basketball Coach who can drive the creation of this new team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in coaching high-performance athletes, a deep understanding of wheelchair basketball, and the ability to inspire and develop talent at an elite level.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Team Development: Building a competitive team through talent identification, recruitment, and skill development.
  • Training Program Design: Developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance individual and team performance, focusing on technical, tactical, and physical aspects of the game.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Competition Preparation: Preparing the team for competition at the WBC Nationals and other key events, ensuring athletes are mentally and physically prepared for the challenges ahead.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with Ontario Wheelchair Basketball Association (OWBA) staff, other coaches, and support personnel to ensure alignment with long-term athlete development strategies.
