Canada Makes History at Inaugural 3×3 World Championships

Canada’s men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams made history at the first-ever IWBF 3×3 Open World Championships, held August 1–3 in Sun City, South Africa.

Both teams went undefeated through the tournament, bringing home double gold in a dominant showing on the world stage.

Women’s Final: Canada defeated Spain 17–12 to become the inaugural Women’s 3×3 World Champions. Kady Dandeneau earned tournament MVP honors, with teammate Elodie Tessier named to the All-Star team.

Men’s Final: Canada topped Spain 14–9 to secure their own world title. Colin Higgins was named tournament MVP, with Nik Goncin also recognized as an All-Star.
