Wheelchair Basketball Coach Symposium

This past season, the OWSA implemented some changes to wheelchair basketball programming in the province. The changes for the most part have been well received but we know there is room for improvement. It would be invaluable to get everyone in the same room so that individual perspectives, concerns and ideas could be shared and openly discussed.

Open to 2 coaches and/or representatives (ie. athletes, parents, board members, volunteers) from all wheelchair basketball clubs and programs throughout Ontario.

Topics of discussion (full agenda to follow):

• review of the 2015-16 season, league structure for 2016-17
• end of season event/provincial championship
• athlete development opportunities
• coach recruitment, development and retention
• skills development clinics and tournaments

Breakfast and lunch will be provided along with refreshments throughout the day.

The OWSA will be able to cover the cost of mileage ($0.40/km) for all attendees as well as overnight accommodations on Saturday, September 10 for anyone traveling more than 2 hours to attend. Parking passes will be provided as well.

We ask that all attendees register online so that we may prepare accordingly.
