Team Ontario Summer Training Camp

Coach Kathy Ludwig and the OWSA are hosting a summer centralized training/selection camp for the Ontario Junior Provincial wheelchair basketball athletes in preparation for the 2018-2019 season and the 2019 Canada Winter Games. This Selection Camp is by invitation only and is the 2nd of 2 Selection Camps over the summer.

The camp will include athlete testing, on-court training, simulated game-play, controlled scrimmages, and off-court components such as IST, video analysis, and team building activities.

Athletes must attend at least one Selection Camp in order to be considered for Team Ontario for the 2018-2019 season. Athletes selected for Team Ontario will compete at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alberta in February 2019.

Date: Thursday July 12 – Sunday July 15, 2018

Time:

• Thurday 1:00pm – 9:00pm
• Friday 10:00am – 9:00pm
• Saturday 9:00am – 9:00pm
• Sunday 8:00am – 3:00pm

Accommodations are located on the Mohawk College campus and are walking/wheeling distance to the DBARC.

Meals:
All meals will be provided for the athletes throughout the camp. Snacks will also be provided. Athletes are encouraged to bring any supplementary food they desire.

Camp Registration

Deadline:
Athletes are asked to register online by Saturday June 30.
The Athlete Medical Information Form must also be completed and emailed to Team Manager Rhiannon Davies at rhiannon_dav@hotmail.com by June 30.

Registration Fee: $250
The registration fee will help to cover the cost of accommodations and meals throughout the camp.

Payment Method:
Payment can be completed online using credit card or PayPal or in person by cheque or cash. If paying by cheque, please have it made out to the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association and brought in person to camp.

Note: The NCCP Wheelchair Basketball ‘Competition Introduction Advanced’ coaching course will be taking place in conjunction with the training camp and will incorporate the Team Ontario athletes for educational purposes.
