Junior Open Camp

The Centre for Sport Capacity is hosting a Safe Sport hybrid forum on November 17th, from 9 am - 3 pm at Brock University. Light breakfast and buffet lunch included which can accommodate most dietary restrictions except for kosher meals.

The Forum will discuss the regulatory design of the sport system. Our speakers will address various issues such as regulation design, monitoring and enforcement, values promoted through sport, and athlete experiences with safe sport mechanisms. Each speaker will address the following;

Dr. Peter Donnelly - The self-regulatory nature of Canadian amateur sport – is it still viable?

Dr. Hilary Findlay and Marcus Mazzucco - The ‘legal landscape’ of sport experienced as a regulatory form of governance.

Dr. Eric MacIntosh - Towards a safer sport culture: a management by values approach to sport.

Allison Forsyth - Athlete experiences dealing with the new national third party safe sport mechanism – instilling athlete faith in the sport system.

Dr. Curtis Fogel - Book Talk on recently released "Sexual Abuse in Canadian Sport"

Charlene Krepiakevich - What is happening at the provincial/territorial level to ensure a fair and safe sport environment.

Along with the knowledge gained during the presentations and Q&A sessions with each presenter, the Forum will include refreshment breaks to network and connect, along with an resource package you can take home with you to continue applying and referencing what you learned.
